Many layers of paint ago in my younger years, I worked on magazines rather than “fine art”. Of course with a family, there was that 20 year period of raising my own beloved masterpieces. Presently drawn to experimenting with materials, I’m in a constant place of learning, wonder and joy. It has been within the last decade or so that I’ve been called into this colorful part of my life and for that I am so very grateful. “Arting” calls to me daily and when I can’t get to it, something in me shrinks.
Usually I work on more than one painting at a time. The prophetic pieces are generally meditative and revelatory to the point that some may take months to complete. I like becoming immersed in thoughts of God’s greatness and love for us, pondering each new revelation He gives me from the painting’s particular point of progress. Because of who He is to me, my greatest joy is when my art can somehow point people to Jesus. His glory, His magnificence, His love for us, deepens why I am here on earth and why I’m a painter.
